This walk includes four artistic activities invited by Idensitat, within the European project SIT PLU – Situated Creative Practices for the Pluriverse –, which addresses socio-ecological challenges through interdisciplinary research and artistic interventions in specific contexts.

For SIT PLU, Idensitat proposed the concept of a “sacrifice zone” as a framework to develop, between 2026 and 2027, two artistic residencies (with Hannah O’Flynn – Tian Guoxin and Maria Nalbantova) and two public programmes.

During the walk along the Besòs River, Natalia Carminati, Espectros de lo urbano (Nancy Garín, Antoine Silvestre), pantea, Hannah O’Flynn – Tian Guoxin, and Idensitat will activate various interventions which intend to provoque a critical reflection upon the concept of a "sacrifice zone", understood as a space in transformation from which new, unexpected forms of life, relationships, and practices of resistance can and do emerge.

As part of this walk, we will distribute a publication featuring contributions from the artists to support the activities throughout the route. This publication was designed and printed at La Escocesa’s risograph workshop.

Situated Creative Practices for the Pluriverse (SIT-PLU) is a Creative Europe Cooperation project tackling socio-ecological challenges through cross-disciplinary research and context-specific artistic interventions. Drawing on the Zapatista concept of the pluriverse—"a world where many worlds fit"—the project embraces diverse ways of knowing and living, foregrounding buen vivir (social well-being), communal interdependence, and the relationships between human and more-than-human entities.

SIT-PLU is a medium-scale Creative Europe cooperation project involving the following partners: LUCA School of Arts (BE), Floating University (DE), ZEMOS98 (ES), Idensitat (ES), Lungomare (IT), Baltan Laboratories (NL), EINA (ES), Universitat Politècnica de València (ES). SIT-PLU is co-funded by the European Union and Generalitat de Catalunya.
