NEXES CIUTAT. PRESENTATION OF ARTISTIC RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION PROJECTS / IDENSITAT - LA ESCOCESA 2021

Presentation of the projects: Planetas del Exilio. Juego sobre cosmopolíticas de la hospitalidad (Laboratorio de Pensamiento Lúdico) and Materias y rastros para una arqueología sobre la existencia de las mujeres (Antonia Rossi et al). Both were selected in the La Escocesa 2021 Open Call for Artistic Research and Experimentation Projects, forming part of the “Nexes Ciutat” project which arose from the collaboration agreement between the creation factory and Idensitat.
“Nexes Ciutat” 2021 focused upon intersubjective connections both to address the context of social distancing, and to explore the transformations and new imaginaries affecting the foundations of contemporary social space. Concepts such as connection, relationship, interaction, collective creation, the public’s rights to the city and to culture, or the articulation of public and common spaces, appeal to the conception of a “we”, and to the construction of intersubjective links.
In Planetas del exilio, Laboratorio de Pensamiento Lúdico (LPL) investigated the theoretical bases, the methodological tools and creative techniques of game creation, with the main objective of examining exile as an individual experience, and migration as a collective phenomenon, from a decolonial perspective. For this event, LPL realised a hybrid presentation. The first part was an online introduction to the working process, to be followed either at Espai M in La Escocesa, or online through a Jitsi link; the second was a brief activation of the cosmogram and the mutant glossary developed for the project.
Materias y rastros para una arqueología sobre la existencia de las mujeres is a film-essay by Antonia Rossi about women and their relationship with the models of seclusion-exclusion in the compartmentalised circuits of the city of Barcelona, projected – as in other cities -- from an androcentric perspective. Still in its production process, during the event in La Escocesa it was possible to see some of the materials that formed part of the research for this project; the director and collaborators, who formed an important part of the working team, were in attendance.
The aim of “Nexes Ciutat” 2021 was to encourage artistic practices that combined active involvement in processes of collective creation, on-location contextualized research, shared learning, knowledge exchange, and the socialisation of processes and results. Following this brief, this event attempted to achieve public openness in both working and research processes, in addition to opening up the results obtained.
