El Raval, directed by Oscar Perez, was recorded entirely within the Raval district of Barcelona. The film-maker's perspective was situated upon four neighbourhood street-corners, regarded as places of transition where life changes. In addition to in situ recordings, the programme included statements from sociologist Zygmunt Bauman; professor of Urban Geography and director of the Observatori de la Urbanització at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Francesc Muñoz; architect and former councilor of Ciutat Vella, Itziar González; architect Oriol Bohigas; and writer Quim Monzo.
